Concern’s livelihoods programme has proven to be successful with a substantial number of participants now engaged in employment opportunities.

Concern offers entrepreneurship trainings to women and men who are interested in starting-up or scaling up a business. Upon completion of the course, participants can submit a business proposal and, if positively evaluated, Concern can support them with a small grant. We count successful businesses in the areas of bakery,

beekeeping and hairdressing who benefited from Concern’s small grants.

To reduce the risks associated with informal economy, Concern raises awareness amongst business owners and supports those who wish to formalize their business. Receiving this support results in enhanced job security, it facilitate integration in the Turkish society and it allows the business owners and workers to comply with Turkish labour regulations.
